With a location near Duke University our students come from all over the world and share their cultures and experiences while learning a 2nd or even 3rd language. We are privileged to have had access to such a variety of diverse cultures and perspectives. Our goals are to increase student engagement in the classroom, provide the scaffolding to make sure students succeed and provide learning experiences that both build students’ background knowledge and create a bridge to building literacy and language development. Our emphasis is to provide support for teachers to create a classroom environment in which every student participates and flourishes, and to ensure that we provide the tools they need to succeed. Services include working with teachers to create and differentiate lesson plans and working in small groups to meet students where they are and bring them to where they need to be. In addition we hope that every child that walks into Forest View will learn to appreciate and better understand other cultures. Welcome to Forest View ESL!
