Welcome to our webpage! We are trying to keep Forest View families updated on all the fun things we are doing in the classroom.
Academic News...
Math: As fourth graders, we focus on learning the multiplication and division facts #1-12. Knowing these facts by heart will help in all the areas that we will cover this year: different strategies for multiplying and dividing, graphing, area and perimeter, fractions and decimals, and place value. Make sure you know your facts!
Literacy: Literature is a fantastic way to learn about the world. In fourth grade, we focus on studying the genres of realistic fiction, historical fiction, legends and myths, mysteries, biographies, autobiographies, and expository texts. We also focus on oral story telling. One of our projects involves each fourth grader choosing a famous legend and retelling the story in their own words. It’s a great way to introduce public speaking and dramatic flare!
